'Bookie', as artist Katie McAuliffe prefers to be called, produces original artwork on pallets, recycled timbers and other non-traditional canvas, which she sells at boyandgirlco and a select few outlets, such as Timber and Tailor, on Lonsdale St., Braddon ACT. Each piece of art is an original, with a warm story book feel.
Bookie’s favorite subject is the animal kingdom—loveable, cute and friendly animals. Her works are light and happy and adored by kids and adults alike.
The pieces aren't framed. Instead, they’re hung ‘as is’ so the art speaks for itself.
In addition to small works, Bookie creates amazing murals for larger spaces in offices, cafes and restaurants, or anywhere in need of brightening up.
And why the name Bookie? It was Katie’s nickname when she was a kid, because she always had her nose stuck in a book.
